About Custom Socks

The list goes on. What’s important to understand when ordering is a few different things.Today, we’ll cover those.

1. The type of socks.

To keep things simple, we’ll cover the 3 basic types of socks:

1. Ankle

2. Crew

3. Knee High

1. Ankle Socks

Ankle socks, as you may have guessed, go up to the ankle. These are standard socks. While very common, these aren’t always the best for custom as it doesn’t allow much room for the actual custom design.

2. Crew Socks

Crew socks are very popular for crazy and custom socks. Crew socks are designed to go up to the mid-calf. This allows for more room with the custom design, but not so high that it goes beyond the knee.

3. Knee High Socks

Knee high socks, as you may have guessed, go up to the knee or slightly higher. These tend to be popular for athletic sports such as softball or baseball, or for parties, festivals, or for those who enjoy knee high socks.

Which should you order?

We always recommend ordering crew socks for custom orders, as they allow enough space for a full custom design, but aren’t as high as knee highs, which many people don’t wear on a typical occasion. Crew socks can be worn both at work and casually, which makes them the most practical.

Be sure to also check the type of sock material, as material such as 100{370618760c397dc6cc2cb50d9226398db8f050b9d4dca0971563c31c186dd88a} cotton will be much different than a sock that is 100{370618760c397dc6cc2cb50d9226398db8f050b9d4dca0971563c31c186dd88a} polyester, in terms of how it is worn and also with how it prints.

For example, a cotton sock will most likely not have a very clear print on it, while polyester will have a much more refined printed design. When choosing your design, be sure to check with the company to make sure that they can accommodate the type of design you are interested in.

For example, some companies can only print words, while others can do entire images. It’s always best to request to see previous work the company has completed, to make sure that they can do the type of custom sock design you are interested in.
